2. Matters Discussed
FK Buah’s funeral arrangements – Burial to take place on 18 February 2006 in Accra
  • TOSA (Ghana) will be printing brochures and plan to collect 25m cedis (200,000 cedis from each old student). Any surplus will go towards his statue.
  • The old students in the US have expressed their willingness to join TOSA (UK) towards any contribution. It was decided that £20 each was reasonable with any surplus going into our coffers towards a future scheme. The US old students are to contribute $50, which Sheila Tagoe will be co-ordinating. 

Please make your cheques payable to Tema Old Students’ Association and mail it, as quickly as possible, to Kojo Gyamera, 6 Grove Farm Court, Brookfields Avenue, Mitcham Surrey CR4 4BT. Alternatively please pay directly into the following bank account making sure that the reference includes your name and the purpose of the payment e.g. LydiaOfori/FKBuah. You will need to make Kojo aware (0208 687 1857/07786 162160).

  • A delegation will visit FK Buah’s daughter (Rose) who is currently in London with a drink to offer our condolences. The date set is 5 February 2006.

Long Term Commitment to keep his name alive (one of the following three)

  • FK Buah Memorial Scholarship

Full tuition fees for a student to be reviewed after every three years

  • FK Buah Memorial Price

A year’s tuition fee to be given during a Speech/Price Giving Day to a Form 1 student either for all round achievement or in a specific subject i.e. History. A different student would be chosen every year

  • FK Buah Memorial Sports Cup

To be given to the best House. We are yet to decide whether or not a monetary incentive should be included which could perhaps go towards buying sports equipment

A committee will be appointed to liaise with the School Board to choose the most suitable student/house

Charles Acquah has been tasked with looking into how best we can improve the site including running costs and easier links to students contact details. 

3. Dues

All outstanding dues have been waived as we have decided to start afresh. £5 per month or £60 for the whole year should be made by either of the payment methods mentioned earlier. Remember to include your reference i.e. LydiaOfori/Dues and inform Kojo so that he can log your payment.
