MINUTES OF TOSA GENERAL MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2002 AT THE LECTURE THEATRE, TEMASCO

  ATTENDANCE :14 members were present.
OPENING : The meeting started with an opening prayer by Mr. Joseph Etroo at 11.23 a.m.
  MINUTES : Minutes of the previous meeting could not be read because they were not available.

  PRESIDENTIAL SPEECH

The National President in a brief speech outlined his observations during the past year. He also commented on the attitudes of some members, which did not help the group to achieve the desired goals. He however commended the committed ones for their efforts.

He informed the house that, out of last year's proceeds, four trips of stones had been procured to facilitate work on the Library/Language Centre project. He also said some 40th Anniversary Souvenir items were yet to be sold.

  FINANCIAL REPORT

 The National Treasurer presented the report and promised to make audited copies available during the week.

  NATIONAL ELECTION

With the Constitution now ready, the long awaited National Election was to be held for various positions. Nomination forms were to be collected from Abi Ventures on the YMCA premises in Accra , filled and submitted by 30th March 2002 .

Announcements and advertisements were to be made to that effect. Adom FM, Peace FM and Mr. Nanabanyin Pratt were to be contacted. Mrs. Miriam Lokko was to play a leading role in this.

  OTHER MATTERS

• Since the charges at Barclays Bank are now too high, it was suggested that TOSA account be transferred immediately to Ecobank.
• It was also suggested that a special silver collection be made towards the donation to Mrs. Vida Sunkwa Mills in respect of her departed father. 

  NEXT MEETING : The next meeting was scheduled to take place on March 30, 2002 .

CLOSING : The meeting came to close with a prayer at 12.35pm .

AT THE LECTURE THEATRE, TEMASCO
  ATTENDANCE : 8 members were present.
MINUTES : Copies of the previous meeting's minutes were distributed to members present for discussion.

MATTERS ARISING

• Advert on Election.- In order to get as many nomination forms as possible, it was suggested that, Fax numbers, Telephone numbers and Email addresses of the receiving points should be included in the Advert.. Also friends in the media and FM Stations should be seen for help.
• Information on Deaths -  It was suggested that, any such information should first go the year group of the person affected for onward transmission to the National.
• Draft Constitution - This was discussed to a point, and was to be continued at the next meeting. Bruce Cathline promised to present copies of Constitution from other Old Students' Associations for comparison.   

  OTHER MATTERS

• School Board - The house was informed that two members were needed to represent TOSA on the School board. Such persons should be regular TOSA members who would be able to submit feedback to meetings.
•Library/Language Centre - On the question of  re-locating, TOSA collectively think that the Library/Language Centre should remain where it is currently sited. A letter on that is to be written to the school.       

  NEXT MEETING : The next meeting was scheduled to take place on May 04, 2002 .

AT THE LECTURE THEATRE, TEMASCO
  ATTENDANCE : 13 members were present.
MINUTES : Copies of the previous meeting's minutes were distributed to members present for discussion.

MATTERS ARISING

• School Board.- It was suggested that laid down rules on the constitution of the School Board looked for, in order to ascertain the real number of TOSA members required.
• TOSA -  The final draft draft of the TOSA Constitution was discussed by members present, and was adopted and seconded by Mr. Lennox Agbosu and Miss Roslyn Ofori respectively.

OTHER MATTERS

• Monthly Dues - It was agreed that the monthly dues for now should be ’5000.
• TOSA National Conference 2002 - It was suggested that this year's National Conference be held on Saturday 7th September 2002 .
• TOSA National Election - With the Constitution now ready it was agreed that the long awaited election of National Officers should take place on Saturday 7th September 2002 . Nomination Forms would be ready at collection points to be published in the dailies. Position to be contested for are:
1 National President
2 National Vice President
3 National Secretary
4  Asst. Secretary
5  Treasurer
6  Asst. Treasurer
7  Organizer

 Radio announcements to be made on the National Conference scheduled to take place in the school. An amount of ’90,000.00 was collected as dues for the day.

CLOSING : The came to a close with a prayer by Miriam Lokko (Mrs)

  NEXT MEETING

The next meeting which would be a National Conference, was scheduled to take place on September 07, 2002 .
